In the latest iteration in the long-running Intel proceedings, the General Court of the European Union has reduced a fine imposed on Intel in respect of so-called ‘naked restrictions’ by €140 million (37%). Daniel and Jack have represented Intel for many years.
In 2016 (judgment in 2017), Daniel acted for Intel before the Court of Justice of the European Union in its successful appeal against the 2014 General Court’s judgment. See here.
In 2020 (judgment in 2022), they represented Intel before the General Court in the remittal proceedings, securing the annulment of a €1.06 billion fine. See here.
Between 2022-2024, they acted for Intel in appeal proceedings in which the CJEU upheld the General Court’s decision and rejected the Commission’s appeal in full. See here and here.
Earlier in 2025, the European Commission settled proceedings issued by Intel (which was represented by Daniel and Jack) in 2024 by awarding a sum in respect of default interest following the General Court’s annulment of the fine. See here.
Between 2024 to date, they acted for Intel in its application to annul or reduce the re-imposed fine for a limited portion of conduct referred to ‘naked restrictions’, successfully securing a €140 million reduction in the fine.
