Barristers in private practice are independent, self-employed sole practitioners. Our members share costs and administrative resources under the collective name "Monckton Chambers". As sole practitioners, they offer objective advice, are unlikely to have conflict problems and represent excellent value for money.
To instruct a barrister or for further advice, please contact our clerks.
There are no restrictions on barristers receiving instructions from overseas, although barristers cannot be instructed directly by a foreign lawyer in litigation in English courts. In such cases, it is necessary to instruct an English solicitor, who may in turn instruct a barrister. The clerks are well placed to recommend appropriate law firms.
