Under the command of senior clerk David Hockney, the "personable and commercial" team is on the ball, "super-responsive and accommodating." Clients are especially impressed by the way the clerking team "keeps itself in the loop." This enables it to quickly identify any issues that arise and respond effectively with solutions"
"Sources assess the overall level of service at Monckton Chambers as being of a very high standard, with its clerks winning particular praise for their "responsiveness, friendliness, and reliability."

Our clerks will help you to instruct a barrister in a new matter. They have a detailed knowledge of the expertise and availability of our members, and will provide you with all the information and advice that you may need to find a suitable barrister or team of barristers. Monckton Chambers has a large pool of QCs and juniors, and we take pride in tailoring our services to the particular needs of each case and client.
Our clerks also have excellent knowledge of the administration of the courts and tribunals and can assist with all aspects of listing and court liaison.
The clerking team is responsible for agreeing, billing and collecting professional fees, which are negotiated on a case-by-case basis. Rates vary from barrister to barrister and depend on many factors, including the complexity and length of the case. Our clerks adopt a flexible approach to fees and are happy to agree hourly rates or all-inclusive fees for individual pieces of work.
All our clerks undertake the BTEC Advanced Award in Chambers Administration and all are members of the Institute of Barristers' Clerks.
